A New Chapter Begins for Lee’s Music Store
After 51 years of serving musicians, families, students, and the music community throughout the Interior of British Columbia, a new chapter is beginning at Lee’s Music Store.
Today, Lee and Mike Miltimore are proud to officially pass the torch to Bailey Finley and Nicholas Adams of TAF Ventures.
The roots of the business date back to the mid-1970s, when Lee and Earl Miltimore started Miltronics, laying the foundation for what would eventually become Lee’s Music Store. Alongside them through the years was Rose Miltimore, whose support, dedication, and steady presence helped shape the family business from the very beginning.
Over five decades, Lee’s Music Store grew into a trusted destination for instruments, lessons, repairs, and friendships spanning generations. Since 1990, Mike Miltimore has worked alongside his father, helping grow the business, continuing the family legacy of inspiring musicians and supporting the arts community.
Bailey and Nicholas bring a new generation of energy, creativity, and business experience to Lee’s Music Store. The couple co-owns their Kamloops-based company, TAF Ventures, and they have built a strong reputation in the event industry through staging, drapery, tenting, and production services. Over the years, the Miltimore family and TAF Ventures have worked closely together on numerous projects, building a relationship based on trust, professionalism, and shared values.
Since moving back to Kamloops in 2020, Bailey quickly became a strong force in the arts community in Kamloops, serving on multiple arts boards, working with non-profits, and creating her studio, The Music Lab. Through teaching at KISSM and the Kamloops Symphony Music School she has established herself as a beloved musician and educator in the city.
Nicholas has owned and operated several businesses in Kamloops, but has more notably been involved in various capacities in the non-profit and arts community. Sitting on boards such as the NSBIA and Chamber of Commerce, and co-founding the Kamloops Makerspace.
As of May 12, 2026, TAF Ventures has acquired the retail inventory of Lee’s Music Store and will continue operating under the cherished Lee’s Music Store name at its current location. 249 Tranquille Rd.
“This is truly a bittersweet moment,” says Mike Miltimore. “For over five decades, this store has been about more than just instruments; it has been about people, friendships, and helping musicians find their voice. Watching Bailey and Nicholas step into this role gives us tremendous confidence for the future.”
Lee Miltimore added, “We could not ask for better people to carry this legacy forward. Their passion, integrity, and vision make them the perfect fit to guide Lee’s Music Store into its next era.”
While this marks an exciting transition for the retail music store, the Miltimore family would also like to make it clear that they are not stepping away from business.
Their company, T.O.P.S. Thompson Okanogan Professional Sound, will continue to run Lee’s Music AV and Riversong Guitar. The company will maintain its Kamloops offices at 249 Tranquille Road while continuing to support its growing operations from its Sicamous, British Columbia, facility.
Lee’s Music AV will continue serving its extensive client base throughout Western Canada with professional audio, lighting, video, staging, manufacturing, and specialty products.
Lee’s Music was the birthplace of the Riversong Guitar. Their award-winning technology has been revolutionary. Lee’s Music Store is proud to continue as a flagship retailer of Riversong Guitars.
“This is not an ending for us,” says Mike Miltimore. “It’s an evolution. We are incredibly excited for Bailey and Nicholas and the future of Lee’s Music Store, while at the same time continuing to build Lee’s Music AV and our manufacturing operations.”
The transition represents both continuity and renewal, honouring a 51-year legacy while embracing fresh ideas and new opportunities for the future of music and live events in the region.
